For 2013, Harley-Davidson released four Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO) motorcycles, but only one was entirely new – the CVO Breakout.

Featuring a Screamin' Eagle Twin Cam 110B engine mated to a Harley Softail Chassis, and loads of chrome styling, the CVO quickly became a sought-out steed. Harley wisely followed this up with a base Breakout, but though sales were decent, things remained stagnant on the Breakout front in 2014 and 2015.

But this changes for 2016 with a late release from The Motor Company; meet the 2016 Harley-Davidson CVO Pro Street Breakout. Gone is the thought of chrome and practically anything "bling" – Harley caters to the drag-racing lifestyle with the CVO Pro Street, which features a slim profile and high horsepower to portray an image of raw American muscle.

The Harley CVO Pro Street Breakout once again is powered by the Screamin' Eagle Twin Cam 110B, which produces 112 ft/lbs. of torque at 3500 rpm. The power plant is mated to a six-speed Cruise Drive transmission that features an Assist & Slip clutch with hydraulic actuation.

The CVO Pro Street chassis is highlighted by new 43mm inverted forks and a signature three-bold triple clamp. Stopping the Pro Street are dual 300mm discs up front squeezed by four-piston calipers, and a single 292mm disc out back squeezed by a two-piston caliper. The CVO Pro Street arrives with a reduced-reach front brake lever, and ABS. The front 19" tire is paired with an 18" rim out back featuring a beefy 240mm tire.

Regarding styling, the motorcycle is available in two color options – Starfire Black and Two-tone White Gold Pearl/Starfire Black. But its the finishes of the other parts is what adds a new dimension to the CVO Pro Street Breakout.

Harley-Davidson Styling Director Brad Richards says "Its colors may be subdued but also have incredible depth. We're developing alternate finishes to bright chrome – brushed and anodized surfaces and tinted clear-coat, for example. The Breakout really lent itself to this new styling direction."

One new finish is called Smoke Satin Chrome: "We worked intensely with our plating suppliers to develop the hue and depth of Smoke Satin Chrome, and we are the first to use it in the motorcycle industry," said Harley-Davidson Senior Stylist Dais Nagao.

2016 Harley-Davidson CVO Pro Street Breakout engine"It's a finish that looks really contemporary and exclusive but also kind of sinister. We've carefully placed Smoke Satin Chrome next to a black surface so it creates a layered effect. For example, the top rocker cover is gloss black, and the lower cover is Smoke Satin Chrome. It's on the exhaust header shields next to the black engine and black mufflers. We used Smoke Satin Chrome on the oil lines and fittings to add an unexpected detail."

All else is pure styling, the CVO Pro Street Breakout arriving with black blunt-cut mufflers, an open-element Screamin' Eagle Heavy Breather Elite intake, flat 1.25-inch drag-style handlebar, along with a speed screen and the color-matched chin spoiler. Other unique elements include a deep bucket seat and bolstered passenger seat trimmed front fender, blacked-out Airflow Collection accessories on hand and foot controls, black Profile custom mirrors, and a low-profile console with smoked braided vent lines.

Also arriving as standard equipment on the CVO Pro Street Breakout are electronic cruise control and the H-D Smart Security System featuring a new hands-free integrated security and locking fob.

All of this is available for $25,699, making it the cheapest in the Harley-Davidson four-bike CVO lineup, which also includes the CVO Road Glide Ultra ($40,299); the CVO Limited ($39,999) and the CVO Street Glide ($36,799).
