Sun Tracker builds pontoon barges of all shapes and sizes for a variety of specific purposes – and yes, throwing a party is a specific purpose! The compact, 2016 Party Barge 16 serves such a purpose, and is capable of carrying up to seven persons in comfort despite its small size. Price, size and power requirements are all near the lower end of the spectrum, leaving this pocket-sized party platform accessible by entry-level buyers, or folks just looking for something that will fit in the garage.

Hull/ Interior Design
The factory started this craft with an eye to safety. High-buoyancy 24-inch diameter pontoons come with multiple watertight compartments and internal bracing to maximize strength, stiffness and floatation.
The Bimini cover can also be set or struck at will for instant shade and shelter, and the courtesy lights help to provide sure footing in low-light situations.
Even if a pontoon gets holed (not likely), you should be able to make it back to the dock, and that peace of mind is more than a small comfort on the water. Wide Z-bar deck beams tie the two pontoons together and work with the 3/4-inch decking and the box-beam, all-aluminum transom to provide torsional stability for the craft.
Once the platform was done, the designers turned their attention to creature comforts and convenience features. Bench lounges made of strong, UV-resistant vinyl seat up to seven people for a total of 1,040 pounds of crew weight (plus the weight of the drinks in the built-in drink holders), and the 22-ounce marine carpet on deck is surely comfortable for barefoot traffic.
The access gate is wheelchair accessible, and a socket in the foredeck serves as a mount for a small dinner table you can set up or strike and stow at your leisure, lending a flexibility to the little craft that makes it just a little "bigger on the inside."
Stowage compartments built below the lounges provide dry storage, as does the binnacle box set below the helm. The Bimini cover can also be set or struck at will for instant shade and shelter, and the courtesy lights help to provide sure footing in low-light situations. An oversized boarding ladder rounds out the more notable features, and should be considered both a convenience feature and a safety item.
Drivetrain
As with most multi-hull craft, it doesn't take much to push the thing. The 16-foot DLX is rated for a maximum of 40 horsepower, and Sun Tracker hung a four-stroke, Mercury 40-horsepower ELPT BigFoot as standard equipment. The four-to-two ratio helm gives a fast lock-to-lock at the wheel for handy maneuvering at the dock, or any other close-quarter situation.
Price
Base price is $13,995 for the U.S. market, and fence coloring is available in the Charcoal Metallic or Blueberry color scheme.
